BIOCENTO ECOFARM

The History of Biocento Ecofarm

Homesteaded in the 1870s, Biocento Ecofarm is a family farm nestled into the foothills of Mount Rainier. The farm benefits from the rich volcanic soil, clean mountain air and glacial waters.

Biocento – “Live to a Hundred+”

Biocento means "Live to a Hundred". Modern Science has confirmed what our European ancestors had known all along - you live with Nature, you allow the seasons to do their Magic, you do not hasten things, and you may be blessed with health and longevity.

Apples or Berries ??

We love apples like everyone else. There is just nothing like Yakima Apples !!

Anthocyanins and Polyphenols – Count me in!

... when it comes to Health though, nothing beats berries with their anti-oxidants and plant derived micronutrients. So instead of "going apple" like everyone else in the Valley, Biocento Ecofarm is growing tiny berries - because berries outperform apples every time when it comes to micronutrients, and berries have made their home in the volcanoes of the Pacific Northwest for tens of thousands of years, long before Johnny Appleseed.

Blue – Black – What’s in a Color??

The dark colored berries are rich in cancer fighting polyphenols (check the rich coloration of Biocento Berries). But it's not just about good health - it's the flavors too - when you let the berries ripen in the sun (not machine harvesting 2 weeks early - green and sour - and not adding artificial sugars like the industrial farms do) it's just a taste eruption (no pun intended - our berries grow right next to major Volcanoes - and we still remember Mount St Helens blowing up on May 18th, 1980, her ash still sitting 3 inches tall in my hay loft).
