Description

Aronia Berries, also called Mountain Berries, sport the highest recorded polyphenol concentration of any plants, at more than 1,500 mg per 100g of fresh berries. While the exact health benefits have not been established, European and Ayurvedic Traditional Medicines have attributed these berries to prevent infections, heart disease and dementia.

Not just healthy, these berries deliver a punch of flavor to smoothies, muffins and pancakes, and their deep purple color adds visual impact to fruit recipes, salads, sauces or side dishes. Health benefits, flavors and coloring properties are well maintained in our gently dehydrated berries.

Apples or Berries ??

We love apples like everyone else. There is just nothing like Yakima Apples !!

Anthocyanins and Polyphenols – Count me in!

... when it comes to Health though, nothing beats berries with their anti-oxidants and plant derived micronutrients. So instead of "going apple" like everyone else in the Valley, Biocento Ecofarm is growing tiny berries - because berries outperform apples every time when it comes to micronutrients, and berries have made their home in the volcanoes of the Pacific Northwest for tens of thousands of years, long before Johnny Appleseed.

Blue – Black – What’s in a Color??

The dark colored berries are rich in cancer fighting polyphenols (check the rich coloration of Biocento Berries). But it's not just about good health - it's the flavors too - when you let the berries ripen in the sun (not machine harvesting 2 weeks early - green and sour - and not adding artificial sugars like the industrial farms do) it's just a taste eruption (no pun intended - our berries grow right next to major Volcanoes - and we still remember Mount St Helens blowing up on May 18th, 1980, her ash still sitting 3 inches tall in my hay loft).
